Make Commissioners Court Voting Records Public

You should always know where elected officials stand. Those in D.C. may not read bills or study issues before they vote on them, but we don't have to stand for that here at home.

Increase Security of Personal Information

There are numerous current laws to protect your identity. I will follow the letter of THE LAW to provide you the utmost in protection.

Make Public Documents Searchable Online

Why waste your time or money driving to the courthouse to request a document that you could view from the comfort of your home?

Enforce The Highest Standards of Customer Service

It is a privilege to serve the public. You should never feel like you are causing a hassle to public officials when your tax dollars are funding their paychecks.

Pledges

I have signed the 10th Amendment Pledge to defend and uphold the Constitution.  The first tenet of this pledge is:    “My votes will always be in favor of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this State.  Every issue.  Every time.  No exceptions.  No excuses.”  Obviously the County Clerk does not vote, but each action that I take as County Clerk will fall within these boundaries.  I will abide by the letter of the law on every issue.  If I feel that a law needs to be changed to best serve the interests of the people of Bowie County, then I will work to get the law changed.

I also signed a form at the beginning of my campaign swearing that I will subscribe to the Code of Fair Campaign Practices.  That code says that “there are basic principles of decency, honesty, and fair play that every candidate and political committee in this state has a moral obligation to observe and uphold, in order that, after vigorously contested but fairly conducted campaigns, our citizens may exercise their constitutional rights to a free and untrammeled choice and the will of the people may be fully and clearly expressed on the issues.”  Signing it is a promise not to engage in personal attacks and to conduct the race within the public eye, only focusing on the issues relating to the office.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your help in opening up the courthouse to the people of Bowie County by voting Natalie Nichols for Bowie County Clerk.  I appreciate your support and I would be honored to have your vote during early voting, October 18th-29th, or on Election Day, November 2, 2010.
